We Believe

We believe in a triune God, who created heaven and earth and everything therein by the power of His word. He is the only true God, God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit, one being in three persons. He is the Eternal King, infinite, perfect, good, holy, just, loving, gracious, kind, merciful and forgiving.

Satan was originally a good angel of God who rebelled against Him, taking a host of angels with him. He was cast out of God’s presence and, as a usurper of God’s rule who established a counter kingdom of darkness and evil on earth.

God created all of humanity in His image and likeness to enjoy perfect relationship with Him and to have dominion over all of creation. Yet we wilfully rebelled against Him, allowing sin to enter the world, by believing the lies of Satan. This rebellion against God was, and is, the cause of all sickness, death, destruction and judgement on all of humanity and creation.

Jesus Christ, the one and only Son of God, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary, who is God’s anointed One, empowered by the Holy Spirit to establish and release the Kingdom of God on earth as it is in heaven was crucified for our sins. He died and rose again, and ascended into heaven where He is alive today in the presence of God the Father and in His people on earth. He is fully God and fully man. He is the perfect image and model of what God intended every born again believer to be in this life. He established the reign of God’s kingdom on earth and destroyed the works of Satan by preaching the good news, healing the sick, raising the dead, casting out demons and cleansing lepers.

By the salvation found only in Jesus are we saved by His grace through faith. By this gift of salvation anyone can be restored to fellowship with God, through repenting, believing and receiving Jesus as their Saviour and Lord. The work of the cross of Jesus is complete and provides freedom over the power of Satan from sin, sickness, lies and torment. The Holy Spirit convicts, regenerates, justifies and adopts us as we are to enter the Kingdom of God as His sons and daughters.

We believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit, by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live holy and minister supernaturally. We believe in the present day ministry of the Holy Spirit and embrace and exercise the gifts of the Holy Spirit. We believe in the laying on of hands for the ministry of healing, for impartations of the Holy Spirit and releasing leaders who God has ordained. We also believe that God empowers people by waiting upon Him, as also seen in Scripture. We recognise both of these forms of ministry.

The Church of Jesus Christ consists of all who are born again. He gave us the ordinances of Baptism and Communion. We are to continue in the ministry of Jesus Christ as He displayed in His earthly ministry, destroying the works of the enemy by advancing the Kingdom of God in all of creation through word and deed, signs and wonders and the power of the Holy Spirit.

We believe in the glorious, visible return of our Lord Jesus for His victorious bride, the church. Heaven and hell are real places and there will be a resurrection of the saved and lost, the one to everlasting life with God and the other eternal damnation.

Unity among different denominations is to be found in the following values, regardless of doctrinal differences. That:

  • Salvation is by grace through faith in Jesus Christ, the Son of God who physically died and rose again, and is seated in the heavenly places with the Father.
  • All believers must go out and proclaim the gospel of the Kingdom to all creation. (Mark. 16:15-20)
  • Ministering to the poor and needy is pure worship according to Jam. 1:27, and is therefore part off every believers job description.
  • We are to love God first and above all and then love the rest of the church as we would love ourselves.
  • We are to be servants and minister in humility to all that He has created.
  • Baptism in water and the Holy Spirit.
